When Maria, a globe-trotting antique restorer, arrives in the sun-soaked town of Bellariva, she has no idea just how broken it will turn out to be. She wants nothing more than to help the town’s inhabitants save their most beloved possessions, but when it’s their personal lives that are starting to fracture, she’ll need to find a way to hold them together, one spare screw at a time. Figure out the inner workings of the objects brought to Maria and find a way to fix them. Meet the townsfolk of Bellariva. Come to love their quirks and help them reconnect. Rediscover the defining objects of decades past to the tune of the original soundtrack, inspired by the sounds of the 80s.
Its hard to give this game a recommendation or not. For myself its a middle of the road thing. The story didn't really matter to me. I wasn't that interested in story when i bought the game, I more liked the idea of repairing things. The first trailer on steam is misleading, it shows a variety of tools like ratchets, needle nose pliers, etc which aren't a part of the game, it shows a manual (which later is open on a diagram) as if you would need to look through it for information, none of that is a part of this game. The mechanics in the repair game aren't great, you can line things up but a lot of the time when you interact with something the camera will decide where to go for you and it often obscures other things you need to interact with. One such example was four screws on the bottom of an object, if you interacted with the screws on the near side it would always rotate the camera so that those screws were on the far side, meaning one side would result in obscured screws requiring manual rotation of the camera again. The puzzles are very simple, even with some items they could have added extra conditions, batteries in the camera could have required placing them in the correct orientation, but generally its a one object goes in one place affair (i think only the cogs could be placed incorrectly). With all that being said, the fact that the game was incredibly short, such that i think even listening to the voice lines would only push completion time to around 1 hour 30 minutes, with no real replayability, I wouldn't recommend it. If you want a story, maybe this will be worth it for you, but if you wanted a game that had a fleshed out repairing section this is not for you.
Ahoy, It's yer local piratical reviewer droppin' o' a short but sweet review on Assemble wit' Care. Ayes! - Wholesome tale - Doesn't outstay its welcome - Intricate but nah overly complicated puzzles - Colourful art style 'n nostalgic aesthetic - Plays well o' the Steam Deck Nays! - Controls be fiddly on the steam deck, put things down way too often then I wanted t' - Personal taste but the sung parts are a wee rough on the ears. Overall a great game worth it's askin' price. Good if ye 'ave a couple o' hours t' spare t' enjoy a wholesome 'n relaxin' experience. Fer the achievement hunters, Ye get all o' the achievements jus' by completin' the game a quick 'n easy one fer yer collection. 7 out o' 10 gold doubloons. A decent Bounty, Worth addin' t' yer gamin' booty.
Im Helena and Im 8 yo and this is my review. It was very good but sometimes i needed some help. Especially with coffee machine. Story was a bit interesting. The best were the screws and building things. I really liked music box. Its a pity there was nothing to sew or more to cook. It could be more than 13 things to fix. Dad and Helena are looking for more from developers.
